Project Description

A detailed site grading and cross-section design project demonstrating advanced understanding of topographic analysis and earthwork calculations. This project involved analyzing existing contours, calculating cut and fill requirements, and designing site grades to achieve proper drainage and site functionality. The design incorporated contour interpolation and gradient calculations to determine optimal grading solutions.

My Role & Responsibilities

Performed topographic analysis and contour interpolation, calculated cut and fill volumes using gradient formulas (L=D/G), designed site cross-sections showing existing and proposed grades, and prepared technical drawings showing contour lines at 156.0m and 156.5m elevations. Applied 4% gradient design standards to ensure proper site drainage.

Outcomes & Impact

Successfully designed site grading plan achieving proper drainage with 4% gradients. Calculated precise cut and fill distances using engineering formulas (e.g., L = 0.19/0.04 = 4.75m). The project demonstrates strong technical skills in surveying, grading design, and engineering calculations essential for site development and construction planning.
