Project Description
A comprehensive GIS mapping project analyzing the spatial distribution of food establishments within developed areas. This project utilized buffer analysis to examine the relationship between food places and urban development patterns. The analysis included mapping food establishments with 500-meter buffers to understand service areas and accessibility within developed regions.
My Role & Responsibilities
Conducted spatial analysis of food establishments, created buffer zones to analyze service areas, mapped developed areas and their relationship to food access, and generated comprehensive maps showing the distribution patterns of food places across the study area.
Outcomes & Impact
Successfully mapped the relationship between developed areas and food establishment locations, providing insights into food accessibility patterns. The analysis can inform urban planning decisions related to food access, commercial development, and service area optimization. Maps visualize random sampling methods and spatial distribution patterns useful for planning analysis.
